Cataracts & lens replacement
Cataracts develop slowly — and life slowly dims with them. Modern lens-replacement surgery not only restores clarity, it can give you better vision than you've had in decades.

What is a cataract?
A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens — usually age-related, and nearly universal after 70. Light can no longer pass cleanly through the lens, so vision becomes hazy, colours fade and glare from oncoming headlights or low sun becomes overwhelming.
The good news: cataract surgery is the most commonly performed — and most life-changing — operation in medicine.

The lens-replacement opportunity
During cataract (or refractive lens exchange) surgery we remove the natural lens and replace it with a precision-engineered artificial lens — an intraocular lens, or IOL.
Choosing the right IOL lets us do much more than restore what you had. Multifocal, toric and EDOF lenses can correct astigmatism, remove reading glasses, and give you vision better than you’ve had in years.
